Что говорит о нас и о мире тот простой факт, что символом надежды и спасения является орудие пытки и казни? Смерть была побеждена смертью Бога. Жизнь с Богом дается нам через богооставленность распятого Христа. Свет Пасхи сияет нам из темноты вокруг голгофского креста. Но все-таки это свет! Свет, который однажды навсегда поглотит любую тьму этого мира. Христос воскрес!

Was sagt über uns und über die Welt die einfache Tatsache, dass ausgerechnet ein Werkzeug der Folter und Hinrichtung zum Symbol der Hoffnung und des Heils geworden ist? Der Tod wurde durch den Tod Gottes überwunden. Das Leben mit Gott wird uns durch die Gottverlassenheit des gekreuzigten Christus geschenkt. Das Licht der Ostern strahlt uns aus der Dunkelheit um das Kreuz von Golgatha entgegen. Aber dennoch ist es Licht! Licht, das eines Tages für immer jede Dunkelheit dieser Weltverschlingen wird. Christus ist auferstanden!

Rectors Greeting to Good Friday and Easter

What does the simple fact that the symbol of hope and salvation is an instrument of torture and execution say about us and about the world? Death was defeated by the death of God. Life with God is given to us through the God-forsakenness of the crucified Christ. The light of Easter shines upon us from the darkness surrounding the cross of Golgotha. Yet, it is still light! Light that one day will forever engulf any darkness of this world. Christ is risen!
